What I Watched Yesterday (Sept. 27)
It’s time for a change. For the past few months, I have been posting thoughts about my TV viewing experience at the end of every week. But with so much going on — in the sports world and beyond — I will state making daily posts each morning beginning today.
SUNDAY, SEPT. 27
Sports: NFL – Bears 30, Falcons 26 in Atlanta (FOX). After another embarrassing collapse, Jeff Schultz says what we’re all thinking. Arthur Blank might run out of pink slips this week. Unfortunately, that’s a good thing. More here from The Ringer. A national laughingstock.
Sports: MLB – Red Sox 9, Braves 1 in Atlanta (Fox Sports South). Not a great day for pro sports in the ATL.
Sports: NFL – Bucs 28, Broncos 10 in Denver (FOX). That’s the Tom Brady I know. (He’s my fantasy QB!)
Sports: MLS – Chicago Fire 2, Atlanta United 0 in Chicago (Fox Sports Southeast). See what I’m saying? I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near Mr. Blank today.
Sports: NBA Playoffs – Heat 125, Celtics 113 in Orlando (Eastern Conference Finals, Game 6, ESPN). Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro and a dominant Bam Adebayo send an overmatched Boston squad packing. The result sets up an intriguing championship series with LeBron and the Lakers.
Sports: NFL – Packers 37, Saints 30 in New Orleans (NBC). I am getting crushed by my brother in fantasy this week, but at least Sunday Night Football was highly entertaining.
TV: Love Island (Season 2, Ep 27, CBS). Reuniting the contestants with their loved ones over Zoom was unexpectedly moving. It made for of my favorite episodes of the season.
