RIP: Naya Rivera Dies At 33

This is awful news. We lost a remarkable woman today — and a young boy a mother — when authorities in California confirmed the death of Naya Rivera, the talented former Glee star. She was 33. (TV Tattle has a roundup of reactions. Variety’s Caroline Framke nails it.) The actress left an indelible mark when it comes to LGBTQ representation in television, something I think about often. She starred in dozens of roles over three decades, including The Royal Family and Family Matters early in her career. From 2009-2015, over 113 episodes on Glee, she played Santana Lopez, the rare bully you rooted for. I watched every episode of the Ryan Murphy project, and she was one of the main reasons why. No doubt, my friends and I howled at her unforgettable lines. Another horrific tragedy for the Glee family. And the world. Rest in peace, Naya.
