Coming In August: My All-Time Favorite LGBTQ Films
If you’ve been reading my blog, you probably figured out I’m a huge fan of movies and television. I try my best to watch at least a little of everything. One of my favorite film genres is the LGBTQ experience. When it comes to flicks touching on that subject, I’ve seen several hundred. Some are great, and some are very bad. In the past few years, I discovered gems on streamers like Netflix and Hulu. But specialized apps such as Dekkoo (which you can get through Prime Video) are the real deal.
Over four consecutive weekends next month, I’ll unveil the LGBTQ movies I liked the most. Think of it like this: If you needed a group of films to educate someone who knows nothing about our community, that’s what I’m aiming for. Admittedly, the bulk of the films I’ve seen center on gay cis men. But I’m working on diversifying my content consumption, so here’s what you can expect:
Saturday, Aug. 1: My Favorite Films About Gay Men in the U.S.
Saturday, Aug. 8: My Favorite Films About Gay Men Around the World
Saturday, Aug. 15: My Favorite Films About Lesbians, Bisexuals and Trans Men and Women
Saturday, Aug. 22: My All-Time Favorite Films About the LGBTQ Experience
I’m looking forward to sharing my picks next month. Please remember to support the arts!
